Who is Brandon Lopez?
Brandon López is a multi-platform journalist and community leader who has worked for over 10 years in print, digital, local and network news.
Prior to starting True Reach Media Group, Brandon worked at ABC News as the lead social media producer for “GMA3: What You Need to Know” (Yes, THAT show). He is also currently the President of the New York chapter of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists, and has held leadership roles with NAHJ for the past five years.
Prior to GMA3, Brandon oversaw the digital operation at ABC’s affiliate in West Palm Beach, WPBF. As Digital Media Manager he led the station to have the number one news website and app in the market.
A Miami native, Brandon’s local news career began at the NBC/Telemundo duopoly in South Florida as an Associate Producer. He held various roles, including managing the station’s digital and social media platforms and contributing segments on-air to NBC 6 News, Telemundo 51 and the station’s lifestyle show, 6 in the Mix.
Throughout his career, he has covered major events such as the Marjory Stoneman Douglas shooting, the FIU Bridge collapse, Fort Lauderdale Deadly Airport Shooting, four Presidential elections, and a Presidential debate.
His wide range of storytelling also includes lighter moments: creating viral content with major celebrities like Patti LaBelle and Gloria Estefan, red carpet coverage at Premios tu Mundo, Super Bowl LIV, and the grand opening of Toy Story Land at Walt Disney World.
Brandon’s career in media began fresh out of high school at a local award-winning magazine where he was quickly promoted to Assistant Director of the Digital Marketing division.
From strategy development, to content development, to crisis management, Brandon’s dynamic career has afforded him tons of opportunities and has allowed him to refine and perfect his craft.
In his spare time, Brandon enjoys traveling, meditating and finding the best croquetas in Miami.
